Weekly tips for better grades with less stress from The Grade Coach

A Note From Julie

Hi ,

I am helping with a lot the of the year end celebrations going on at our schools right now, and sometimes it is hard to get to grips with the fact that there is still schoolwork going on.

It can be really easy to get caught up in the end of year high and forget that the grades coming in now are just as important as those in September.

I figure that if I am getting swept up in it all , then it must be twice as hard for all the students - after all they are going to get to enjoy the activities we parents and teachers have been planning.

A couple of weeks ago I shared some tips on avoiding "End of Termitis". This week I wanted to give some more tips on keeping that focus going. As usual I will go into each in more depth in my blog. Drop by and let me know what works for you   http://thegradecoach.com/coach/blog

Have a great week

Wishing happiness and success

I am really excited about this product because it will allow students who I cannot help personally have access to a lot of the same information and exercises that I use in my intensive coaching program. It is like having me with you in a binder!
It is designed for older students (High school Junior and above) to use independently or for the parents of younger students to use to coach them through the process.

6 More Ways to Stay Motivated When School is Almost Over

The end is nearly in sight! School is almost over, but unfortunately there is still work to be done, tests to be sat, papers to be graded! Don't spoil your record now by straying off course. Here are some tips on how to keep your head in the game till the final whistle (yes, I have been watching the playoffs! Go Celtics!!)
  1. Reward yourself - You can make this a big reward for meeting your year end goals, or a series of little rewards for finishing individual tasks (or something in between). Just make sure it is exciting enough to give you that focus.
  2. Get some good quotes that inspire you - for instance "It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny." Anthony Robbins
  3. Picture your ideal life - take a few moments to picture how you would like your life to be, and how sticking in now will impact that.
  4. Picture the worst that could happen - imagine what could happen in your life if you don't succeed at school - make this picture as black as possible
  5. Become a robot - plan your time in detail, then work the plan, don't think about anything.
  6. Imagine having to go through summer school! Enough said!
If you or your child are struggling to control your time and get the results you know you are capable of then it is time to take action.  The Focused Time Management System TM for Students avoids all the clutter and gives you the most important things to focus on to get you back in control of your time and your life. It's all step by step, not a big mish mash of things. So you do step one of the system, and when you're done with that, you move on to step two, and so on. So easy!  All the tips, tools, and worksheets are handed to you on a silver platter.  E mail me at Julie@thegradecoach.com to arrange a time to chat over your issues and see if I can help.
