Weekly tips for better grades with less stress from The Grade Coach

A Note From Julie
Julie Baird, The Grade Coach
Hi, If I ever doubted the existence of a higher power those days are over now. The flu has hit my household with a vengeance. Two out of three kids down so far – thankfully not too serious.

Now this in itself is nothing usual. But how weird is it that it happened on the exact week that I am covering health and how it relates to your studies?  Bearing in mind that I have a publishing plan that I set up months ago! Spooky! I am not sure what messages I am sending out to the universe but I think I need to frame it more positively in future. Don’t tell my kids I jinxed them!

I am trying to simplify my newsletter. I have had a few difficulties with the company that distributes them so I am puting past issues on my website. If you ever have difficulty viewing or just want to see some past issues visit

Have a great week and I hope you and your family stay healthy

I hope you enjoy this week’s newsletter

Wishing you happiness & success

Look After Yourself To Get Great Grades

The news is full of illness. The seasonal flu and H1N1. Schools are seeing lots of empty seats; classes are struggling because there are not enough substitute teachers to fill the gaps.

It seems to be an inevitable part of winter.

But work must go on; homework doesn’t stop piling up because you are sick. Only in extreme circumstances do you get extensions on deadlines. The temptation is to struggle through so you are not missing as much. The problem is it just takes longer till you are back to full strength.

The theme of this week is about looking after yourself so you are well enough to get the grades you deserve.

Think about it, you can only get the grades you are truly capable of when you are at the top of your game. So your job is to make sure you are at the top of your game as much as possible.

  • Look after yourself so you don’t get sick
  • Take care of yourself when you are sick, so you recover quickly
  • When you are on top, make the most of your time to allow yourself some slack on your off days
