Weekly tips for better grades with less stress from The Grade Coach

A Note From Julie
Julie Baird, The Grade Coach
Hi ,
We had a lot of fun on Halloween, check out my red ninja 5 year old! My Little Red NinjaMassachusetts had a very warm evening so the trick or treaters were out in force – much candy was given out – unfortunately I think even more made it back home!
No sooner is Halloween over but everyone is talking about Holiday plans! Come on! What happened to stopping to smell the flowers (ok I know they have all gone!)
As the leaves fall here and the temperature drops, a lot of people start feeling low. Add to that the pressure of the holidays and end of year exams and the stress starts to pile up.
This week’s tips cover stress and how to make sure it doesn’t get out of control. My blog will develop the subject over the next few days by looking at self esteem and relaxation techniques.
Have a great week and if you need a quick stress relieving tip – go rake some leaves!

I hope you enjoy this week’s newsletter

Wishing you happiness & success
Julie Baird

Is Stress Always A Bad Thing?

Life_is_hardStress is dangerous. It can kill –  literally!  Less extremely stress is also unpleasant. You want to go there!

However, some stress is necessary for life. It gives us energy and puts enough tension in your day so it flies by. So how do you know how much is enough?. And when you need to take action so doesn’t get out of hand?

I will use my standard phrase here “It depends”

It depends on you; you need to recognize the symptoms of stress as you sense things are getting out of control.

Here are some common warning signs:

  • Staying up later than usual to finish things.
  • Waking up earlier than normal.
  • Disturbed sleep.
  • Everything around you gets messier. (This is my personal early warning sign).
