Weekly tips for better grades with less stress from The Grade Coach
Oct 14th 2010

A Note From Julie

Hi ,
With two birthdays in 4 days in our house this is a very hectic time for me. As I look around I am always amazed at how some people seem so on top of everything while others seem permanently freaked out. (I swing widely between the two!). Thinking about the differences between these two groups - and myself when I am in control was the basis for the articles this week.
Each of the lessons is expanded more in the blog this week. Drop by and leave your comments.
Wishing happiness and successPlease forward this

It is like having me with you in a binder! It is designed for older students (High school Junior and above) to use independently or for the parents of younger students to use to coach them through the process.

Top 3 Tips to Get Your Time Under Control
Everyone who has ever had a time management problem always claims they don't have enough time. In reality they have exactly the same amount of time as everyone else.
So what makes some people seem like they have all the time in the world and others like they don't have time to take a breath?
How we use our time can make all the difference in the world.
1. What do you spend your time on?
If you take a cold clinical look at exactly what you spend your time on, you might be surprised at how much time you spend on things that are not helping you reach your goals. Check how you spend your time for a week and see what you can cut down on to give yourself more time.
2. How do you use the time you have?
One thing that separates those who have everything under control from the rest of the world is their ability to focus. To do one task at a time until it is complete and tune out distractions. Try and create a space for yourself to work in that cuts down on distractions and then pick a task and work on it till it's done.
3. How do you decide when to work?
Those who are on the top of their game understand how to plan in their time so it works for them. They know when they are at their best for certain types of tasks and make sure they tie that in to their planning. Consider when you like to do certain things, like thinking creatively, doing detailed work or working with others. Now take that into account when you are planning your day.
Those who are in control of their time appear to have everything under control. By finding out what they do differently you can master your time.
If you or your child are struggling to control your time and get the results you know you are capable of then it is time to take action.  The Focused Time Management System TM for Students avoids all the clutter and gives you the most important things to focus on to get you back in control of your time and your life. It's all step by step, not a big mish mash of things. So you do step one of the system, and when you're done with that, you move on to step two, and so on. So easy!  All the tips, tools, and worksheets are handed to you on a silver platter.  E mail me at to arrange a time to chat over your issues and see if I can help.
